In preparation for Mesmerize, I learned how to make an outer space scene. The planet was just for fun. Seeing as though I’m getting back into techno music, I’d like to do more spacey stuff, but what I wanna go for is the Sonic-styled interdimensional schtick. Can’t really explain it yet.

Character designs for an animated music video.

A housey tech track made with instruments I barely use, like the Korg 01/W, The Alesis Quadrasynth S4, The E-MU Classic Keys, and the Waldorf Microwave.

I also found a few vocal sounds out of E-Lab’s “XTC Files of Techno”, and used those.

On the topic of instruments, I have a Roland D-110 coming in. I do plan on getting other instruments, such as the E-MU Orbit 9090, the E-MU Proteus 2000, (maybe) the Roland MKS-80.

Another techno song I want to animate.

New techno track! I plan on using this in a future animation.

    Another techno vid.

Another experiment in techno vids. I managed to buy a splitter for my VCR, AV, and HDMI2AV, so now, I can record stuff on my VCR without hooking up and unhooking my VCR.

  • Hope you guys had a nice Thanksgiving! I sure did. Hung around with the family, had a rather early dinner. Early, but still tasty.

    Now for some updates:

I decided to boot up a video synthesizer program called “Cathodemer,” which is also a CRT simulator. I wanted to try out making 90s rave and acid house visuals, since a big part of my art is nostalgia. So, I learned a bit about Cathodemer, particularly learning how to have the visuals react to audio, and I pumped this video out. I love how it came out, but I have a feeling there’s more to rave videos than just using a video synth.

    Also:

I’m getting back into making VHS vids. This is the first one I’ve done since “Becky at the Beach,” and since I got my current computer setup. Thanks to the current setup and a few splitters, recording vids will be much, much easier.

    Lastly:

    “Alexandrite”

    “Opal”

Following my “Funk Science” project, I decided to do another musical project, this time, focusing on music inspired by anime and Japanese video games from the late 80s to mid 90s. The name of this project is “Eyecatch.” Unfortunately, I only made two tracks, but I’m not done with this EP yet.

  • Restarting my art journey, as I feel like my current style is too.. limiting. Going forward, I’ll be practicing things like anatomy, perspective, lighting, proportions, color, textures, animation techniques, etc.

  • Here’s an attempt at an EP. I called this one “Emphasis,” because each track focuses on a particular part of a song (bass, lead, pad, etc.). I’ve learned a few things along the way, which I will use in the future.
