Another techno vid.

Another experiment in techno vids. I managed to buy a splitter for my VCR, AV, and HDMI2AV, so now, I can record stuff on my VCR without hooking up and unhooking my VCR.

Hope you guys had a nice Thanksgiving! I sure did. Hung around with the family, had a rather early dinner. Early, but still tasty.
Now for some updates:
I decided to boot up a video synthesizer program called “Cathodemer,” which is also a CRT simulator. I wanted to try out making 90s rave and acid house visuals, since a big part of my art is nostalgia. So, I learned a bit about Cathodemer, particularly learning how to have the visuals react to audio, and I pumped this video out. I love how it came out, but I have a feeling there’s more to rave videos than just using a video synth.
Also:
I’m getting back into making VHS vids. This is the first one I’ve done since “Becky at the Beach,” and since I got my current computer setup. Thanks to the current setup and a few splitters, recording vids will be much, much easier.
Lastly:
“Alexandrite”
“Opal”
Following my “Funk Science” project, I decided to do another musical project, this time, focusing on music inspired by anime and Japanese video games from the late 80s to mid 90s. The name of this project is “Eyecatch.” Unfortunately, I only made two tracks, but I’m not done with this EP yet.

Restarting my art journey, as I feel like my current style is too.. limiting. Going forward, I’ll be practicing things like anatomy, perspective, lighting, proportions, color, textures, animation techniques, etc.
-
Here’s an attempt at an EP. I called this one “Emphasis,” because each track focuses on a particular part of a song (bass, lead, pad, etc.). I’ve learned a few things along the way, which I will use in the future.
-

From now on, all techno, sci-fi, and space-themed songs will be done under the “Funk Science” moniker.

One thing I see with anthropomorphic animals is that predators like lions and wolves tend to be drawn in a cute, friendly or goofy style, and I feel like it ruins the reputation of those animals, so I decided to draw a couple of lions who aren’t so friendly. In addition to cute and sexy women, I like to draw male characters who you don’t wanna fuck with.

Another quick techno jam. I do have something planned for an Artzie-styled music video, so that will be coming down the pipeline.
-
Something inspired by a sample from eLab’s XTC Flies of Techno. I wanted to make something…. not like your average song. Something without a typical melody, because part of what lured me into techno was its playful weirdness, and I don’t get that in today’s music. I’ll make some art in the future, but for now, music will take up much of this site for the time being.

Haven’t posted much here lately. The auction stream experiment was a dud, so speedpaints won’t happen as often as they used to be, unless I can find some inspiration.
…In which I will do. I plan on doing some new stuff this month, like animating a scene from Futurama, and making a techno album, so look out for those.
